Flower Pictures

These are the flowers we planted the other day, I finally got the pictures up here! :)  There's not much else to day, I talked about everything really in my other flower post.

Aquarium!!

Here are some pictures of the aquarium we went to yesterday...I did a little report about Beluga Whales which is why I'm posting this at all (otherwise it would be totally irrelevant).  I hope you enjoy these pics, they're not amazing but hopefully you can get a little bit of the amazingness that goes on there!
Beluga Whale--they have three in this tank and the water is 29º Fahrenheit!
Whale Sharks (there were 4 in this tank!)

Grouper (this pictures does not do justice to the size of this!!)

Whale Shark again

Huge manta ray

Tail looks like a shell...at least to me

"Did you see that big fish?" "Yeah, did you see that one!" "Man, these are some big fish!"

Fish.  They live harmoniously together with the whale sharks, manta rays, and little boys peering at them.

This thing was doing tons of backflips!  It was like it knew that we were watching it!

I love the ocean.  Loooove it!!  So obviously I love aquariums, especially nice ones like this.  I also have some pictures of the flowers which I will post soon (maybe today)!

Planting Flowers

Yesterday we planted flowers in our front yard, I took some pictures but they wouldn't go into my iPhoto...hopefully I can get them up soon!  The only reason I mention this is because we're starting a botany unit after we finish Renaissance History.  Also, comment if you want my mom's blog, My Ugly Garden, to get back up!!  Since it's spring soon, a fresh start is always good :)  Thanks you guys and hope you have a great weekend!!!

Astronomy. Mostly.

I've been doing an astronomy unit for science, which is pretty interesting.  We went out one night and measured the latitude of some stars and planets (but not again after that because it was so cold!), we've talked about famous astronomers and the zodiac and stuff like that.  Yesterday we discussed how the tides and moon are linked and what the spring tide (highest high tide) and neap tide (lowest low) were, and when they might be this year.  Today I learned about how the more we look at the stars and universe, the more answers we get, but then we also have more and more questions! :)  We looked at a whole bunch of cool pictures of nebulae, which you can only see clearly through a good telescope, and talked about how Mars has ice at its poles which grows and shrinks as the Martian seasons pass.  It's really neat!

Sorry about my absence...I'm not a great blogger as far as posting goes but love looking at other blogs and stuff!!  Haha, I'll try to be better about that though!

One last thing: I'm in 4H and am doing the Photography project, so I might do a series on what pictures I'm taking and stuff.  The next meeting is in March I believe, we had one a few weeks ago and even though I was the only one there they said that more people will come next time, thank goodness!  :D  I need feedback for this idea, so please tell me wether or not you would like to see the pictures and hear about 4H awesomeness!!
